The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Diabetic Eye Screening Programme was formed on the 1st April 2017. It serves the diabetic population of Isle of Wight, North Hampshire, North East Hampshire, Southampton City, and West Hampshire.
Once patients have been referred to the programme by their General Practice, the programme is responsible for inviting people for and carrying out all aspects of screening, including grading and referring to the Hospital Eye Services as required.
The programme has approximately 100,000 patients with diabetes.
